Paz Bernstein (1992, Israel) made three short films, all surrounding females and feminist subjects. in the past years she has helped organize protests against sexual assaulters, and helped with graphic design pro-bono for the “Headquarters For Combating Trafficking Women and Prostitution”. Currently she is working on her new short film, at the “Open Workshop” artist residency in Denmark.
The film “when alone” describes feminine sexuality as a magical and powerful source, that just waits to explode and color the world. The film takes us into the rich inner world of a woman, it doesn’t matter who the woman is- just the fact that she is a woman can tell us that she is magic. The subject of the film is considered taboo, but the creator asks to break this barrier. with the help of the animation technique, the rhythm and the visuals, it is much easier for the audience to process and realize that they just witnessed a woman org**m.
